Our Story

O rganicFlame has very organic roots, just like our name infers. We built this company from the ground up dating back to 2007. It took us nearly five years to design, program, and construct every machine OrganicFlame uses in order to create our unique hemp wick. After the bolts were tightened and the wheels greased, we opened our doors in 2012 and began shipping products across the globe.

It’s not hard to tell our passion shines through in every product, not only because we love what we do, but for the fact that we enjoy providing our customers with the highest quality product at the fairest price.

At OrganicFlame it’s all about TLC, that’s why each roll is spun by hand using our signature Wickologists. That’s right, a Wickologist: An OrganicFlame certified employee that spins the finest wick known to man.

Not only do we roll top notch wick, these rolls are a renewable, natural and a healthier way to enjoy your smoking pastime. I can guarantee our products will help change the way you light up for the better. Using Flame will also assist in bringing out all of that flavor your smoke has been missing.

Fun Fact: OrganicFlame was the first to market with pocket sized rolls, all thanks to “The Original” 25 footer – great for grab and go situations.

Today we have a wide variety of wick options available from 3ft to 200ft…we get it, size matters!

Our Team

Steve Feamster

Co-Owner & CEO

Steve is Co-Founder and CEO of Organic Flame. Steve was born and raised in Southeast Michigan and focused on TIG welding, automation, and robotics in school. His education helped him gain the tools to build the propriety machinery used to manufacture Organic Flame’s products. His original idea for a 25 ft pocket sized roll of hemp wick led to the range of products available today.

Steve is currently living in Southern California where he works to build the brand and stay engaged with the the American hemp fiber industry.

Ben Townsend

Partner & CTO

Ben is a Partner and Chief Technology Officer of Organic Flame. Ben grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and currently resides in Baltimore. He attended UMBC where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. After graduation Ben started a web design and advertising business while working as a quality assurance analyst at UPS which led him to Organic Flame. His web and marketing expertise has helped to build our brands online presence and gain exposure through the web.
